Vinit,

Really, really, really (ad nauseum) it is pretty stable. OFBiz has been around for over 5 yrs, Opentaps as a product has existed for over 2 years now. 1800flowers.com, rugsusa.com, bt.com all use OFBiz or its variants. The 1.0.0 preview version is a preview of only the additional features that have been added over what OFBiz delivers. And even that is amazingly stable. In fact, if stability was an issue, it would not be as popular as it is now.

http://www.big.tuwien.ac.at/research/publications/diplomatheses/herzog.pdf will give you a fairly good idea of the different Open Source ERP software available and a nice comparison as well.

Venkat,

Given that Opentaps is in 1.0.0 preview version, how stable is it? Really?
Really? really? We are talking of software, that if not working 100%
correctly, could shut down critical business components of my clients'
business.

I would like to know your views in details ....

So is Opentaps suitable for small and medium businesses.
Would you recommend
that ?
Opentaps is suitable for small, medium and large enterprises. It scales very well and can serve the needs of most businesses who need an integrated solution for their ERP, CRM and SCM. It is flexible to support different types of business like manufacturing, trading and online businesses. But this line of thought might get too technical and sales-y for Silk.

Opentaps is the only ERP solution I recommend to my clients, whether they have an existing solution or otherwise.
