"Walter Wagner and Luis Sancho contend that scientists at the European Center for Nuclear Research, or CERN, have played down the chances that the collider could produce, among other horrors, a tiny black hole, which, they say, could eat the Earth." the lawsuit was filed in hawaii. presumably they believe the collider will at the very least drill a hole through the earth from geneva to hawaii, bringing CERN into hawaiian jurisdiction. or maybe this is a clever scheme to raise public awareness of the higgs boson :-)
