If there's a sport where there's a binary path to the gold medal, the losing
semifinalists either have a third-place playoff or are both awarded bronze
medals. I believe wrestling has a third place bout, and hockey and football
have third-place games, but tennis, badminton, table-tennis and boxing do
not.
