Aren't fashion magazines part art, part advertising, the ultimate
informercials? The question remains, would it be offensive? I think
the difference between what I described and the Vogue shoot is only
subtle.

It's one thing when you drag in a starlet who knows she's wearing
designer wear, regardless of whether she's paid enough to make wearing
them a habit. And it's quite another when you parade poor village folk
in global haute-couture when they have no idea they are wearing a bib
that costs more than their life's earnings.
