Not very surprising, to be honest. It was inevitable that this would happen if RIM wanted to retain access to the Indian market. What I find interesting is that the government seems to consider that corporate BlackBerry users are not potential security risks. I'd like to see how this affects BlackBerry usage in India. My bet is that nothing will change, since most Indian users (gross generalisation alert) don't particularly care about stuff like privacy and intrusiveness.
