My experience has been that there is very little difference between a second hand set of irons and a brand new set. I bought both my old irons and my current ones (Taylor Made rac OS) second hand - I only had to get them regripped and they were as good as new. However, I was able to test drive them at the range to make sure they were right for my swing. I'd really recommend that you try out somebody's set (not sure if there demo days in the KGA) before deciding on what you want shipped. Personally, I like the Taylormade irons (r7 or burner), and the Mizuno MX 950 but YMMV. Salil.
