I saw a modern update of this film... where instead of a bus its a guy (jason stratham) who is injected with some chinese cocktail drugs and he will die if is heart-rate drops below 120... so the first half hour of the film he has to keep running / jumping / leaping / talking very fast to keep his heart-rate above the lethal rate.
