I think we will have to accept SMS-ese, too, it's part of the evolution, like it or not...I think that in 20 years' time "dat" or "tat" will be the accepted spelling of "that", for example, in much the same way as no one writes "nuncheon" or "luncheon" nowadays, or "withdrawing room" ....
