I agree partially.

Speaking for myself, I sometimes post articles entire for two reasons:

1. To spark discussion among those who read the text, keeping in mind
that some significant number of listmembers will NOT click on the link.
I also perform some value addition of collating the text and stripping
out the ads.

2. Many URLs are not persistent, so I want some place where I can go
back later and still find the text.

3. Often (but not always) I send them along with a line or two of
commentary to place it into context.

Having said that (and putting the admin cap on), I agree that merely
forwarding all the interesting links that come one's way is not a great
way to enhance the SNR ratio on the list.
