I was curious to find if I could locate my name on the electoral rolls
after reading this post. To my surprise, I did find it, but it took
about 10-15 minutes of looking.

At first it seemed hopeless, I had to install about 6 font files, and
make a few guesses as to where to look, and then had to manually scour
the 39 page PDF file since you can't just search for your name
(non-standard tamil font), but I did locate my name on page 19.

On the other hand, I noticed that my neighbor's name and address had
been placed on page 1, under a different street. No doubt they will be
in for some stress at the voting booth.

I am simultaneously impressed and annoyed. I am impressed that we have
a functional and transparent enough bureaucracy that despite all its
flaws still works, and I am annoyed at the level of incompetence in
something as simple as putting a PDF file together. BTW, the PDF file
is password protected, possibly for security, but it is not signed
with a digital key.
