Strictly a personal reaction.
This has a dual impact.
First it is amusing to see how a North American cartoonist sees a foreign
culture. Second it is amusing to see how that cartoonist selects from his
perception of such cultural aliens to communicate with his audience.
Both what he's trying to say, as well as his visible effort to pick out symbols
with which he's trying to say.
