I have been to Cabbages and Condoms in Bangkok (Soi 10-ish off Sukhamvit) several times. If anyone plans to go to C&C, I also highly recommend the Asia Bookstore on Sukhamvit Road close by for its excellent collection of books on SE Asia in English. The food at C&C is, IMO, average. There are several restaurants on Sukhamvit Road that offer more interesting food. I find the gift shop more useful. You can get silk scarves for a decent price (compared to Jim Thompson, not Chathuchak weekend market) without the hassle of bargaining or getting ripped off. C&C also has branches these days in other Thai cities. Also, I think the vasectomy next door is an exaggeration arising from journalistic license. I do not recall seeing such a clinic - though I confess I have only been to C&C for dinner. > I don't know if this is thread drift or not...but when Anjana (my daughter) > bought a packet of After Eight Mints, Derek (my son in law) looked at the > name, the little square sleeves...and thought they were flavoured condoms. Could have something to do with the name being confusing close to Beyond Seven - the brand name of a popular Japanese condom. Thaths -- "You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel." -- Homer J.
