I've just come out of a very bad discussion on PakTeaHouse where the sheer
rascality of the leadership of both India and Pakistan was on full display.
How can any nation - and I include Bangladesh in this - survive such villainous
leadership?
Are we specially vile? Are other leaders the same? Are we all drifting along
led by people who simply have no idea what they are doing, and why they are
doing it? Is democracy just a sham, giving us the power to elect
representatives, and from them leaders? without giving us the slightest say in
what they do with the mandate?
It is amazing that we survived Nehru and Patel, even Gandhi, and that the
Pakistanis survived Jinnah, Ghulam Mohammed and Iskander Mirza (I don't want to
even think about the military dictators) and that Bangladesh survived Mujeeb,
Zia, Ershad and their blessed womenfolk.
