Over the space of the last week or so, I listened to 3 different takes on one album: Pink Floyd's classic, _Dark Side of the Moon_ [1]. I have had all of these in my collection for a while, but it was the first time I heard them all in a row, while still retaining the memory of how they all sound.
The first, of course, is the original, or at least, the remastered version thereof. The second is Dream Theater's live performance of the entire album [2]. The third is by a mishmash of different notables from the rock world, intended as a tribute [3]. Just goes to show what a truly layered piece of work the album is. All 3 takes highly recommended - in their own highly distinct ways.
