I think kanishtha means younger daughter. Jyeshtha means elder. So, it would
also work for sister. But Bhagini seems more appropriate.. From whatever I
remember from 10th standard mugging. :)

jyeshta and ganishta are just elder and younger. no gender or relationship
implied there.

bhagini would translate to "wife" I guess - sharer, in the sense of
'sahdharmacharini' - someone who proceeds together with you on the 'path of
righteuousness'
