It is obvious why assymetric bandwidth is the norm, people are
still stuck in the old broadcast model, and there are powerful
lobbies who want to keep it that way. 

Some of the points I've mentioned will be pretty controversial.
I doubt many will make the final cut, but at least I've tried.
