There was quite a crowd of people (about 15) and I found a lot of them (er,
there were two who wouldn't speak to me) ...to use Udhay's favourite
word...interesting.

The clique WAS-- somewhat-- in evidence, but I didn't bother about it;
introduced myself to a few people and enjoyed myself. Chandrachoodan
Gopalakrishnan (which of those names is you and which is your father?)....I
felt comfortable enough with the group towards the end of the walk to start
the usual ribbing about Canon vs. Nikon! I was the only one not from
Chennai, and the only one who was there for the first time.

I will be uploading some of the photographs (er, I haven't taken any
*artistic* photos!) and will be making a post on my blog soon. I've uploaded
just 4 so far....

I don't think I would ever go for a photowalk in Chennai during the summer,
though! Yesterday (Sunday) there was a nice haze and the cool weather really
helped.

My favourite photograph is of the shop sign which has unconscious
correctness:

It IS wiser to wear a helmet though that's not what this signboard means....

And for your delectation, let me also present the following variety of
innerwear:

How many men can afford a Rolex?

One thing which bugged me very much was that some the photographers gave
money to the people whom they photographed. Many of the subjects started
demanding cash, and expecting it. I felt that we are making beggars of these
people....

Cheers, Deepa.
