We do not yet have a technology for a truly nomadic existance
that is both comfortable and sustainable. If we ever develop
such technology then the era of planet-dwellers will be shortly
over.

Nothing wrong with letting the photons do the traveling. You
could probably achieve sustainability with a sedentary population
in a suburbia-like density, which could look quite arcadian with
a bit of work.
