I could always make up my own religion that is defined as consisting of anyone born in the geography of India. Why would you be obliged to release yourself from that?
Precisely the question that's been bothering me as well. Why do you feel obliged to release yourself from it? And what would you get by releasing yourself from it? To live in society, you would still need to carry the baggage that comes with that identity regardless of what the government considers you as. No? Kiran
