Kodiak bears don't have to stoop to a human lunch. They were there first, and they staked out the sunny side of the island with all the good salmon streams and berry patches. The living is easy, and, other than rummaging through the dump for choice delicacies, they loaf around in the sun, eating. The people huddle on the windward side of the island, experiencing rain straight up, no chaser. Along the waterfront, bald eagles dive for fish scraps from the canneries. -- Heather Madrone ([email protected]) http://www.madrone.com http://www.sunsplinter.blogspot.com I'd love to change the world, but they won't give me access to the source code.
