Considering how poorly many media companies have been doing over the last 10 years (Look at the Newspapers and Music industries), was becoming a media company the best choice? My insight, I confess, has the advantage of hindsight. No technology company seems to have successfully transitioned into media companyhood. Even Apple seems to be heading towards becoming a consumer electronics company that mediates the consumption (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV) and tools for the production (Mac) of media. Thaths -- Homer: Ee-van eht niojh -- you gotta love that crazy chorus. Lisa: What does it mean? Homer: Ah, it doesn't mean anything. It's like, "rama-lama-ding-dong," or, "Give peace a chance."
