Why not Sid as in Siddharth? Amit is a poor name to throw at western anglophones in the UK or the US because it is pronounced "ummit" and no one catches that easily. If spelt, people say "ay-mit" or "ahm-it". Takes too much time to explain that "Amit" actually means "a-mita" - "without limit" and is one of several thousand names given to Ganesha the elephant headed god. Sid is good. Sunny is fine.
