After a conversation with a medically more aware friend: the claim, as stated, is overblown. DCA is just one substance (not the first) which has shown promise at killing cancer cells in vitro, but which have not been successfully translated into in vivo cures for cancer. It's still somewhat promising, but certainly no magic bullet. -- ams
