Like he said. I can't prove anything either for or against, but I am somewhat sceptical about AI itself, let alone AI bootstrapping itself into transcendence. However, I think this is an important discussion - not least because it (potentially) provides some back-pressure to the incessant anthropomorphism that pervades discussions of intelligence.
