More egregious instances of brick-wall limiting may be reduced (thank goodness), but mastering compression is not going away anytime soon. Cars are still noisy, ipod headphones still have poor frequency response, and that's what mastering engineers are optimizing for these days. I've heard more than one producer claim that they mix with their expensive monitors and master with ipod headphones. They're probably joking, but only kinda.
