Perhaps I was too telegraphic. Unpacking: I originate from Tamil Nadu, land of MK Stalin and the Rt Hon Pandian, who, as speaker of the TN assembly, once had an opposition member (during one of the regular fights that tend to break out when the legislature is in session) accuse him of Not Being A Man. This worthy's response was to lift his dhoti (on live TV) to prove that he's a man. My point? Even with these antecedents, I find the current political discourse in the US dysfunctional.
