I don't know - there were frustratingly few intellectual outlets in India besides debating and quizzing. I've always been partial to the idea of holistic development, and most quiz heads I met were these answer spewing, buzzer tapping monsters on stage who seemed to *ahem* lack other skills. I also grew up without the oversight of the traditional Indian school system which seems to hop up normal kids into competitive tiger kids. I didn't bother with the IIT even, which should tell you much.
