Gmail on the web has its own idiosyncracies and some context sensitive advertising that occasionally tends to the bizzarre

I know that for me the decision to move to gmail / the cloud was made once I'd had enough of the silliness of pine/eudora/mulberry/outlook/mutt/thunderbird madness.
