In the team I was working with, they were all single and the exceptions were men who had someone taking care of the family. You are right, that was a major reason, especially since home meant no A/C and internet, and in Chennai that meant something. But later I found that in other projects there were people with a family too who worked like this. They couldn't seem to eke out a space for their routine.
