I'd go further and say that there is a culture in India of accepting pretty much anything done in the name of a group be it religious, caste, political, linguistic or economic. Massacres, Riots, assault, rape, censorship, arson, traffic disruption, bandhs (enforced general strikes), kidnapping or torture have all been accepted when associated with a group of some kind. Until we Indians hold ourselves to the same standards that we impose on others we're doomed to seeing this crap over and over again. -- b
