I'm not a Wodehouse scholar or even much of a fan; I've read about five of his books.
I do think it's significant that Wodehouse wrote most of his books in America. His satire of the British class system, and the upper class in particular, could be quite savage. I believe he was an American citizen when he died. I wouldn't go so far as to say he was a (lower case "d") democrat, but he came close.
