Subject: [CCM-L] Shortage of medicines and control of regulatory authorities.
Reply-To: International Critical Care Medicine Group <[email protected]>

Dear all

We are facing shortage of quie afew medicines including some life swing
ones. We are trying to push ministry of health to pressurize the
manufacturers as the current storage is a pressure tactic for price hike.
But MoH is quiet and does not want o get involved in this.

Are there any regulatory bodies or statutes or controls in your country in
such situation? When you face shortage of medicines, how do you tackle it?
What is the current situation in your country? Do you see shortage of
medicines mostly by multinational companies or local companies
manufacturing generics?

Currently we face severe shortage of thyroxine, neomercazole, procarbizole,
digoxin, alprazolam, sleep inducers, and injectable beta blockers to name a
few.

Thanks for your time...
