I am trying to recall a word for a figure of speech. It's a typical Brit
thing where you deliberately make a really weak analogy ("as slippery as
a really slippery thing", or, as you can see below)

Anyone?

    ZAPHOD      Right... it's as slippery as... as... What's the slipperiest
thing you can think of?
    FORD        At the moment? This marble.
    ZAPHOD      Right. This marble is as slippery as this marble.
