Rangis and also Wang's kitchen neat the IIT for desi chinese Bong there's a crowded and cheap but authentic joint near the police commissioner's office I am egmore, annapurna I think. And nicer and more upscale, bay leaf, which Thaths mentioned, in the lane next to gangotri (opposite Stella maris college). Their kosha mangsho is nice and they have Lucknow style biryani.
