I followed Mahesh Murthy's advice and got a same-day visa (with my Indian passport) at the Myanmar embassy in Bangkok. Hotel booking confirmation, e-ticket, photograph were all that were necessary. Turn up at the embassy in the morning, fill out the form, pick your visa stamped passport up that afternoon.
