So question to Silklisters.
I used to think that a dedicated place of worship, a place to keep the god
was a concept introduced a bit late into the Indian landscape, and probably
inspired a bit from the West Asian practices and proto-Abrahamic tradition
(synagogue/church/mosque). But I don't know if that is correct.

Anybody help throw more light?
