I had originally asked this regarding Tamil about 3 years ago (see old thread below). The situation seems pretty much the same now.
I find it really tragic because, even for European languages with far fewer speakers internationally (e.g. flemish or slovenian) I found better quality and a lot of choice in terms of educational dvds for toddlers. Many of these seem to be contextual translations of English or French educational video material. Do you think there is a demand for this in Indian languages ...or is it just me ? I remember inquiring at Landmark in Chennai a year ago and the shop assistant told me "We have never had it in tamil". Later when I walked past the same section, I found another lady asking the guy the very same thing.
