I wasn't in touch with him since the 90s, but I still remember how helpful he was to me as a teenager struggling to come to grips with this whole "online" thing at CiX.. I also remember a surprise phone call once at home from him, telling me how to trick the dreaded VSNL GIAS system into giving me a shell prompt (at the time, that was a bit like the holy grail..)..
