It is very USAnian indeed apart from carrying a hefty dose of cognitive
bias and "What will others think?" ("Log kya kahenge?" in Hindi/"Naal
pere yanna solvanga?" in Tamil)

The article weighs heavily on couples sleeping together and says not a
chirp about mum, dad and three kids and grandmother all seeping in one
room which is common enough in India.

It is also common for a newborn baby to sleep with mum, and dad banished
elsewhere for varying periods of time in India. Also common for
child/children to share a room/bed with parents.

There is an error in the assumption that people in the same bed or room
actually manage to sleep at the same time. One might snore while the
other stays awake listening, and the doctor will tell you that the
snorer is not sleeping well enough. What is the medical profession
coming to nowadays?

Sleeping apart is a luxury that should be treasured and savoured and not
guilted up by guesswork and baseless assumptions. If one must stay warm
and cuddle up against someone, get a dog.
