Given my definition of retirement, that would imply that you would both be able to support yourself financially, as well as have interesting things to do - not a bad position to be in. That being said (and to tie it back to a recent discussion), I can think of various SF stories that pinpoint the biggest problem with extended healthy lifespans being boredom.
