A bit about myself. I’m a lawyer and currently based in Bengaluru. I don’t practice in the courts but I’m a Senior Resident Fellow at the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy. I currently head the Bengaluru office of Vidhi where we carry out legal research on state level issues and suggest changes to the laws on them. I write a regular column for the Economic and Political Weekly called “Law and Society”. I used to practice in the Supreme Court as a junior advocate in the chambers of Mohan Parasaran and had a great time being a government lawyer for a weak and unpopular government (not a joke!). If you’re on Twitter you might know me as @alokpi. I keep writing on issues of law and courts in various publications. Also, I’m a huge cricket and Starcraft nerd.
