So much for my theory about dirty wires causing yellow CS to turn black. This last batch (same distilled water, same process as usual) was originally pale yellow, stored in distilled water-rinsed cobalt blue bottles.
The following day, stored in the same cupboard as usual, the CS in the first bottle was golden. I attributed this to room temperature at processing time and afterwards being warmer than in the winter and the spring. Get this-- the next bottle from the same batch was clear the first day of use, and slightly lavender with obvious black flecks in it the following day. (Air exposure???) I thought maybe my kids were playing tricks on me at first. I felt stupid asking them, but nobody had messed with it. I wouldn't have thought so; it just seems so strange. Now, even more curious, the final bottle was golden yellow like the first upon use the first day. The next day (today) it is CLEAR! What next? Back to yellow, or black, or will it be purple??? I've been making this stuff since Dec., and have only seen it stay at "1", clear, stay or change to "2" yellow, and stay or change to "3" blackish with evenly suspended flecks. Now it seems to be going down and back up the scale. I'm really puzzled. What's going on? I'm starting to think I should keep the distilled water and the finished product in the fridge just to keep the temperature consistent, whatever the results. Any comments/ideas? Still maintaining a reasonable (95%) level of health, treating Lyme disease 8 mo. now with CS alone... Enjoying sports with my kids after years of benchwarming or snoozing, ...
