The current knob should be turned up only to the point where you can
just barely feel the current. Just on the borderline. No more.
Gives the slightest, gentlest sensation on the skin.
More is NOT better.
According to Dr Bob Beck's taped lecture "INTRO TO THE BRAINTUNER",
(Bob Beck is the designer of the Braintuner), daily sessions on the BT
should be approx 30 minutes. He emphasised that the sessions should
not go beyond a maximum of 40 minutes - as such only results in
undoing the good that was done in the first 40 minutes.
He stressed that in this case, more IS NOT better!
Beck recommended using the BT in daily sessions for a maximum of
approx four weeks.
The Beck BT is a wonderfully effective instrument to remedy over-stress,
depression, anxiety, loss of short-term memory due to long use of
alcohol or drugs.
And even rehabilitates the brain to the point where people have commonly
reported pleasant lucid dreaming, in color, after three or four weeks of daily
sessions on the BT. Memory generally improves. And one feels cheerful
and in charge of their mind again. Nice results.
From personal experience with the BT, I can attest to the above.
A tip to BT users:
The BT will lose its effectiveness if proper care and maintenance is
ignored:
** You MUST wash the skin behind your ears just prior to applying the
BT's electrodes to those locations - to remove the barrier of natural
oil on the skin.
** Apply good WATER-based electro-gel (or KY-jelly from the chemist)
to the electrodes>skin contact, to enable better and maximum flow of
the very weak current and waveforms into the body.
Never let the skin-contact dry out.
A substitute of your saliva is not sufficient.
Never, NEVER use an oil-based gel. That acts as a barrier to
electrical current.
** After each session, you MUST carefully wash and clean the two
ear-piece electrodes, avoiding wetting the metal parts.
-Otherwise, the two electrodes will accumulate dried gunk, which will
result in an electrical barrier to the weak current and vital waveforms.
-Causing the BT to lose efficiency, wasting your time, and a
consequent lack of good results in your brain.
A final tip:
Despite using the good maintenance as above, after 6 months or so,
the BT electrodes will become less and less efficient, putting out
less voltage than when originally new. And consequently poor
results.
WHY?
Because the soft electrodes have managed to slowly absorb a
quantity of electro-gel (or KY-jelly, or lazy people's saliva)
- accumulating as an electrical barrier of hardened gunk.
(It does happen eventually.)
TWO REMEDY OPTIONS:
a) Buy yourself a new electrode yoke and electrodes, or
b) Thoroughly dissolve and clean the accumulated, hardened gunk
in and WITHIN the interior of the two soft electrodes - by first removing
them from their metal fat pins. Then dropping them into a quarter
cup of methylated spirit. Let them soak for TEN minutes before
vigorously stirring them round and round with a spoon for a minute or two.
This will dissolve and remove much of the absorbed and hardened gunk.
Remove the soft electrodes, let them dry out for an hour.
Clean the accumulated brown and green gunk off the fat metal
terminal-pins which hold the little soft terminal pads.
Can use metho on a rag. Get them to shine again, like new.
Refit the soft electrode pads.
And your Braintuner will once again be able to deliver results
like it did when it was new.
