I've been reading and remaining silent because the current controversy
is not sufficient to warrant joining in, but when I see poor context and
syntax I get real uncomfortable. I guess it is my "college professor"
complex showing through.
1. When one cites an authority, one is citing, not siting. When one
sites something they are essentially placing something somewhere.
2. As far as the scientific basis for CS, I feel that UCLA and many
other formal institutions are sufficient to not get out of joint just
because the vast majority of us are looking for anecdotal exchanges on
what works and what doesn't. That ain't scientific by a long shot, but
who cares.
3. If anyone thinks they can buck the establishment, then they need
some serious counseling. I should think that if we network and
communicate positively, then we have accomplished the mission of this
group.
4. I placed a request for assistance to this group awhile back and not
one of you could take the time to lend me the assistance of your
experience. I am really disappointed that this list has descended in
quality to be a small group of people taking pot-shots at each other and
forgetting that many of us are here for possible benefit that CS could
do for us.
5. As Christmas fast approaches, perhaps now would be an appropriate
time for each of us to look inward and examine just why we are in the CS
group. If the reason is anything but sharing and co-opting benefits,
then go somewheres else where adversarial and agravational techniques
are welcome. I, for one, am tired and disappointed with the conduct of
too many of the group. As I learned back in the days when I used to do
some serious mischief while engaged in covert ops, it is the focus of a
mission that should never be lost. I feel that many of the group have
lost their focus and are using the guise of christianity to air some
rather unchristian epitaphs and outbursts.

With that off of my chest, I can now give you all the most important
message...

Merry Christmas and a most healthy and prosperous New Year to all of
you.

God Bless.

Jack
