Dear List...

Sometime early this past summer I had a disagreement with Scott Berner,
and predicted this devolvement that the Silver List is now apparently
experiencing. Too much personal ego is confusing the soup.
Scott seems to be the spark to a lot of the recent controversy. Let it be
known that I admire his dedication and conviction to the necessary cause of
helping people when so many vested interests are thinking of the financial
bottom line before the thought of actually seeking truth and help and curing.
I have no doubts that his heart is good and in the right place.
His approach, however, is worth thinking about. He has taken on the cloak
of zeolotry, not only with colloidal silver concerns but with his religious
belief system. I had politely asked him this past summer to tone down his
religious intent, as this was a list about COLLOIDAL SILVER --not theological
belief systems-- and he quite rudely slammed me for not sharing his religious
beliefs and told me that people on this list truly appreciated his religious
quotations and whatnot. Perhaps this is so, and jolly good.
As I said then, my concern was that the strong religious overtones of
Scott's prodigious postings might "scare away" people --not religious-- who
could benefit from the knowledge and insights being traded on the Silver List.
Nonetheless, the basic systemic germ of our disagreement seems to have
spread further on this list. Meaning, we are experiencing the fiery tensions
between science & medicine and "free-thinking" anecdotal approaches to health
care. Yet again we have the two approaches standing on opposite sides of the
room, staring steely-eyed at eachother. "Fuck you, I'M right," says one, to
which the other responds, "No, fuck YOU, you misinformed prick! I'M the one
who's right!!"
     Ad nauseum....

It's been said many times before, and will be said many times in the
future, but we need to have the two approaches agree to a summit someday. The
M.D. approach, with all of its so-called education and learning and
righteousness, needs to get over itself and truly open its mind to the many,
many things that were not taught in school and that are actively happening in
the "underground."
The "free-thinkers" (of which I am one) need to respect the M.D.'s who
are willing to meet half-way on the field. I, for one, lean towards successful
"anecdotal" information, but I'm also slowly appreciating the necessity for
objective scientific goodies. It's been surprising to me that I find myself
correlating a hell of a lot of current scientific and medical information to
the stuff that I was bored by back in middle school years ago. I would suggest
ALL OF US (and especially practicing scientists) go back to middle school. The
basics are balls to the wall...

(Never forget that EVERYTHING --and I mean EVERYTHING-- is made of
electricity. This will knowledge will hopefully help you make the transition
towards understanding electro-medicine as it evolves in the coming years.)

Okay, okay, I've strayed. Big point being this:
Mariah Carey is a giant fake...

No, no... Rodney King was coached and had a cue card that he read from
that said, "Can't we all just get along?"
I want this list to be what it set out to be. I admire Scott for his
dedication, but his particular lack of self-insight is causing him to become a
bit of a thoughtless tyrant here on the Silver List. I believe someone wrote
that it's hopeless to point this out to him, and that's true. Scott writes
that he's revving up to start his own list; on one hand, I hope so. On the
other hand, I still want him on this list so that I can continue to learn from
him.
I don't appreciate Scott's attack on me many months ago, and I see him
doing it with others, but as a thoughful rebel, I can't help but identify with
his maniac soul.

Let's all remember that the maniacs make the progress. Hmmmm....
there's the likes of Einstein, those wacky Wright brothers, that wild fucker
Franklin, yada yada, etcetera ad nauseum.......

I've rambled much more than enough. I hope that Scott can understand a
little of what I've tried to convey here. I hope that anyone can.
This wasn't technical informortion. This was a gentle plea.

Be well, all. Learn, live, and perhaps kick up the skirts while
trampolining on the light beams of life.........

Mark

P.S. Thank you to all who responded with thoughts about diabetes. It's much
appreciated.
