An article titled, "THE SICKNESS OF MUMMIES" in the Latest issue of Discover magazine is well worth reading. It summarizes how parasites have infected human beings for millenia, causing accute infections, heart disease, and many other diseases, shortening lifespans dramaticly. Focusing on the western hemisphere, recent research shows that humans have been infected with parasites from the arctic to the tip of south America for thousands of years. Part of this research is based on the studies of 27 mummies, some as old as 7,000 years.
..."The remains of some ancient lovingly preserved Americans are yielding clues to some horrific parasitic diseases that continue to plague hundreds of thousands of people today." Today, hook worms alone kill over 50,000 people every year.... The author of this article does a good job of relating how current researchers are just now coming to understand that parasites have played a major role in the diseases that have challenged humans... and that parasite -caused diseases and conditions are becoming more prevalent (as Hulda Clark has said in her book, "The Cure For All Diseases" Much more could be said; I'll stop here for now.
