Hope I don't get in trouble for cross posting... I need help with the care of a baseball sized open squamous cell carcinoma tumor of the face. Short and quick details: 81 y/o man, using Rife/Bare device, Pancretin "Ca", Pancretin "E", the drops associated with Pancretin (as recommended by Dr. Kelly), plus MycroHydrin. Bed bound, under Hospice care at home, diet is full liquids to soft (very soft) foods. Whey protein powder shakes in milk, yogurt or juice. Liquid minerals, multivitamin plus 1000 mg more of C. Fluid intake is poor. Muscle wasting is highly evident. His mind is there but his body is shot to hell. I'm an LPN with 18 years experience. The wound site is open, cratering, draining clear to bloody drainage. Very vascular, no pain at all. Apparently it has an odor, other's can smell it but I can't. Dressing is changed 2-3 times a day. Cleansed with H2O2, rinsed with Normal Saline, rinsed again with Colloidal Silver (CS) (presume that it is of optimal PPM), Aloe Vera Gel with Vitamin A, C, & E is applied to a non-stick bandage. Hospice Pharmacy is providing an ointment/paste called ET Mix (Enterostomal Therapy), that has a non petroleum base along with Nystatin - a anti fungal effective against Candida. Apparently the wound was cultured for it while in the hospital. I have seen postings that CS is effective against Candida, but I believe this was systemic Candida. Apparently my father is asymptomatic and is not on any oral antifungals. My questions are as follows: Would the CS counteract the Nystatin? If it was applied topically as I am doing? What affect would the Nystatin have on the Aloe? Any other herbal/natural remedies for this? Also for the odor.
Do not want to go the way of an escharotic or to have the wound debrided. It is very vascular and he may "bleed out" as they say. Any and all help/suggestions will be appreciated.
