With all the know how on this list concerning electrical manufacture, would it not be an easy thing to build an AC generator also? Could we not likewise bypass the high dollar AC units by building our own? Obviously it would cost more than building a DC unit, but the savings would likely be proportional to the expenditure. Is there really a reason to spend 400-800 dollars on an AC unit that can likely be built for 50-100?
