Mike, Thanks for your feedback. Chemistry is not really my area of expertise as you can tell. On reflection, I believe you're correct about the tarnish being silver sulfide. Maybe as part of the the testing exercise as we quantify and qualify the CS for the test we can determine if there's anything other than elemental or ionic silver in there. Sure would be nice, since as I said in the post there seems to be no negative reports from silver usage in those forms while silver compounds however, are a different kettle of fish.
As an aside, it would be interesting to run a little survey of the folks on the list as to the quantity, frequency and duration of CS consumption. Do we have any real long term users out there? Folks with a 2, 5, 10 history of daily consumption. We like to focus on the efficacy of CS but that kind of data is invaluable when it comes to promoting CS from the safety side.
