This was my reply to Jerry, off list, which he has given me permission to forward.

Your original post was from the list. It sat a few days and I answered it by way of the list. So your reply below went right back to the list and is entirely public. Okay, that comes from Mark Metcalf's site, I think. I thought it was a bit optimistic. I'd be interested to know where he came up with those predictions. I have heard some of these ideas kicked about somewhere. Also note that one of the FDA approved burn treatments is a cream with silver or silver salts in it. It was developed and tested in the early '60's. Also, I think there is a cream product for sale on one of the sites we commonly reference. Elixa? Metcalf's? Advantage Pharmaceuticals? > I have only known about the CS water for about three months and > decided to try different modes of application. Everything is pretty simple to make, and if the methods of compounding the various delivery vehicles are common knowledge, there may not *be* much to patent. If you're interested in marketing something, you can just do it and not worry about the patent. As long as you keep moving forward, if an idea gets worn out you can let it go with no regrets. If the ultimate goal is to help folks, you could give away the formulae and *still* package and sell preparations. People will pay you for the convenience. > Several years ago I did work as a Para-Medic and have seen the > workings of the Medical Profession. If you put the formulae in the public domain there'd be no protection for anyone to monopolize it, I THINK! (I am still not a lawyer!) So anyone could still make it to use, or sell, with only FDA labeling requirements to worry about. > Please do not include this part of the letter if it isn't needed on > the list. My fears are probably unfounded and just fears. Every posting to the list is automatically forwarded to all subscribers in its entirety. I don't pre-screen messages. I *do* retain the option of booting people. So my "moderation" is after the fact, not pre-emptive, so as to speed up interaction. > Oh: is there any protocalls written about the use of silver and the > various diseases? Advantage Pharmaceuticals has a few protocols on their sites for using their 30 ppm mild silver protein product. Try: http://www.xpressnet.com/bhealthy/ I have absolutely *no* compunctions about someone wanting to profit from their contributions to the marketplace. Profits are a *good* thing, as long as they're made without coercion or fraud. When the gov't steps in to protect monopolies, discourage competition, "regulate" startups out of existance, etc., that's when I object. On the other hand, you have to know your own values and motivation. Sometimes the profit motive will force you to sacrifice other things that are ultimately more important to you. My own participation on this list is an example. If I were to start my own marketing efforts for something CS related, I would instantly lose the impartiality and credibility that comes from being *free* of commercial interests. So I don't see myself starting a CS related business, even though I probably could and there *is* money to be made. About the only thing I could foresee doing would be publishing a book based on what we learn together here. Even then, I couldn't rightly claim credit for all or most of it, and it would be an important consideration how to dispose of the profits. In the grand scheme of things, I think there is more good to be done by making sure this info gets out to everyone who wants it. *Let* people market their wares and make a profit for the service provided. But let the information be free so it will never be lost. Thanks for the work you're doing, Jerry. Be well, Mike D.
